In the early days of my widowhood, my faith felt shaken. I was angry at God, and I couldn’t see how He could be anywhere near my pain. After the funeral, the calls and visits faded. The world moved forward — and I was left standing in the middle of a life that felt completely shattered.
In those quiet moments, I wrestled with my faith. It took time — and I’m still learning — to see the small ways God was quietly holding me together. If you’re not there yet, it’s okay. God is patient with our anger, our silence, and our questions.
Scripture
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
Casting your anxieties on God doesn’t erase the pain, but it places your grief in His hands to help carry the burden. If you feel alone today, know this: you are not unseen, and you are not forgotten. Even in anger. Even in doubt. His care for you does not change.
Prayer
Father, Your Word in 1 Peter 5:7 encourages me to cast all anxiety on You because You care for me. May I feel Your loving care even in my sadness. Show me that I am not alone and let me feel Your presence in this moment. Amen.
